Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (Humber College) – BMO Launch Me Entrepreneurship Program & Comp


The BMO Launch Me Competition was created to support students and recent grads with seed funding to get their venture ideas off the ground. Contestants with the overall strongest business plan and pitch will have the opportunity to win a portion of funding for their startups.
The funds will be distributed in three categories:
1. BMO Women Innovators Competition: For women-identifying entrepreneurs;
2. BMO Groundbreaker Competition: For all current students;
3. BMO New Graduate Startup Competition: For Humber graduates (within ~2 years graduation).

Comments on Funding:

Seed funding of up to $15,000 (highest cash prize) could seriously impact the winner’s venture development.
In total, students and alumni have the opportunity to win a portion of $130,000 in funding for their startups!


All creators, entrepreneurial thinkers, and leaders are encouraged to apply.

Applicants for the BMO Women Innovators Competition must:

  1. be Humber or Guelph-Humber students;
  2. be members of the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE); and
  3. identify as women.

Applicants for the for the BMO Ground Breaker Competition must:

  1. be members of the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE); and
  2. be current students at Humber College or Guelph-Humber.

Applicants for the BMO New Graduate Startup Competition must:

  1. be members of the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE); and
  2. be Humber College or Guelph-Humber alumni within two calendar years.

Previous awardees of the BMO Launch Me competitions are not eligible to participate. However, students/alumni who previously entered a competition but did not win are eligible to participate.

Applications Steps:

participate in the Practice Pitch Event on Thursday, March 9, 2023. (Note: this may be done remotely); and

    Unsuccessful applicants may be offered further assistance in developing and launching their new venture.

    Documentation Needed:

    Applicants must:

    1. Submit a two minute video explaining:
      a) a little about the entrepreneur;
      b) what is the applicant’s business, venture or idea,
      c) why are they interested in participating in the BMO Launch Me program and competition.
    2. Apply for the BMO Launch Me competition by submitting and filling out an application and business plan template.

    Applications are now closed. Please check back in September 2023 to participate in next year’s competition.

    The BMO Launch Me Program is designed to help students and recent alumni prepare for success in the BMO Launch Me competition. Complete a series of skill building workshops to prepare your business idea for launch, and submit your work for a chance to win funds. The first round of the competition is a business plan submission. Chosen finalists will move on to the finals with a five minute pitch to a panel of judges.
