Dunin-Deshpande Queen’s Innovation Centre (DDQIC, Queen’s University) – Dunin-Deshpande Queen’s Innovation Centre (DDQIC) Regional Pitch Competition

Description:

The DDQIC Regional Pitch Competition is organized to give post-secondary students and other members of the Kingston community, the opportunity to advance their early stage venture through funding and mentorship. This competition is offered in two series:
1. Summer Pitch Competition;
2. Winter Pitch Competition.

Comments on Funding:

Teams have the opportunity to receive up to $30,000 in seed funding from a prize pool of approximately $100,000.

Eligibility:

Applicants:

  • must be ventures at Queen’s and in the Kingston region;
  • must be based in Kingston and the surrounding region, but do NOT have to be associated with Queen’s University;
  • Must have been funded less than $30,000 (grants, pitch prizes, loans, equity) are eligible to compete for seed funding.

The impact of the venture on the Kingston region will be taken into consideration for all regional applicants in the adjudication process.

Other Things to Note:

The Regional Pitch Competition Series is made up of two pitch competitions per year in the winter and summer.
