Business Development Bank of Canada Mandate
The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) is the financial institution devoted to Canadian entrepreneurs. BDC helps create and develop strong Canadian businesses through financing, advisory services and capital, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises.
BDC was recertified as a B Corp for the third time in May 2022. This certification reaffirms BDC’s unwavering commitment to creating greater economic, social, and environmental value for Canada and its entrepreneurs.
BDC’s mandate is enacted in the Business Development Bank of Canada Act, passed in July 1995.
