LSRCA Mandate

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA), a local watershed management organization incorporated under the Conservation Authorities Act, is dedicated to conserving, restoring and managing the Lake Simcoe watershed. Its jurisdiction includes the entire Lake Simcoe Watershed with the exception of the City of Orillia and the Upper Talbot River subwatershed.

LSRCA’s vision is that of a Healthy lake, healthy land, healthy life… for generations to come.

LSRCA Priorities

LSRCA’s priorities include:

  • Championing watershed health and climate resilience by protecting people, property, drinking water sources and restoring protected areas, and by finding a balance between what society and the environment needs;
  • Driving evidence-based decision-making by using environmental science, collaborative research and data;
  • Sparking a passion and action for nature and fostering the people & nature relationship through leading edge education programming, outdoor opportunities and communications;
  • Advancing organizational effectiveness and excellence through excellent organizational practices and transformative digital solutions to reach its Vision; and
  • Creating a workplace culture that attracts and nurtures people and talent.
