Description:
Digital Generator is a short-term initiative to support Canadian arts groups, collectives, and organizations to build their digital capacity and transform their business model and operations. This initiative offers 2 streams.
Stream 2 provides support to:
- 1implement recommendations resulting from a digital assessment, audit or plan that are designed to transform your operations and increase the digital capacity of your group or organization,
- 2implement and develop shared digital resources that benefit more than one group or organization.
Comments on Funding:
Funding will take the form of a grant covering 100% of eligible costs, to a maximum of:
- 1$50,000 for projects that benefit a single group or organization,
- 2$100,000 for collaborative projects that benefit multiple groups or organizations.

Organizations presently receiving core grants are eligible to apply to this initiative.
Applications Steps:
The applicant must register in the portal at least 30 days before applying.
Applicant's eligibility is determined by the validated profile created in the portal.
Applications must be submitted any time before the start date of the project.
Documentation Needed:
Applicants must provide:
- 1information about their project and its potential impact, their timeline, and their budget,
- 2a copy of the digital assessment, audit or plan that provides the recommendations that your project addresses,
- 3letters of engagement from partners, if applicable.
Other Things to Note:
Application limits:
- 1One can receive a maximum of 1 grant from this stream for the benefit of his own group or organization. One can receive 1 additional grant for a different project that benefits multiple groups or organizations.
- 2One can apply to this steam twice in one year (1 March - 28/29 February). However, applicants can only submit a new application once they have received the results for their previous application.
- 3Applications to this initiative do not count towards the maximum number of applications that can be submitted to the Canada Council each year (from 1 March - 28/29 February).
- 4This grant does not count towards the number of project grants needed to be eligible for a Canada Council core or composite grant.
