Type of Program:
The Residencies component of Arts Abroad funds activities linked to international artistic and cultural exchanges for Canadian artists, arts professionals, artistic groups and arts organizations. Grants support creative research, creation and networking activities within the context of an international residency.
Comments on Funding:
Funding will take the form of a grant of up to $20,000.
When It Ends:
Organizations presently receiving core (operating) grants can apply to this component. Organizations presently receiving core (operating) grants can apply for exceptional projects that extend beyond regular activities. You are responsible for demonstrating the exceptional nature of your project.
The applicant must register in the portal at least 30 days before applying.
Applicant's eligibility is determined by the validated profile created in the portal.
Applications must be submitted any time before their departure date.
Applicants must provide:
- 1information about their project and its potential impact, their budget and the host organization,
- 2a letter of confirmation of their participation in the residency from the host organization, which outlines its contribution (accommodation, travel, networking opportunities, etc.),
- 3samples of their previous work.

Application limits – one can apply to this component once per year (1 March – 28/29 February).
