Description:

The Small-Scale Activities component of Creating, Knowing and Sharing provides funding to First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals, artistic groups, collectives and organizations working in all disciplines for activities that will advance their artistic career or practice. This may include acquiring materials for artistic production, engaging in career or artistic development activities or benefitting from specific expertise, advice or training from a professional artist or cultural carrier.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to $3,000.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

  • First Nations, Inuit and Métis,
  • professional artists, aspiring artists working under the mentorship of a professional artist, arts/cultural professionals, cultural carriers, groups,
  • for-profit organizations that have been in operation for at least 2 years,
  • not-for-profit organizations not currently receiving core (operating) funding.

  1. information about their artistic and/or cultural practice, their activities and their budget,
  2. a sample of their previous work,
  3. a letter of invitation, confirmation or agreement from participant(s), host, organization or venue, if applicable,
  4. a letter/email of agreement from their mentor and their mentor’s current biography (for aspiring artists only).

Other Things to Note:

Application limits – each year (1 March – 28/29 February), one can apply to this component twice and receive a maximum of $3,000.
