Description:

LEADS supports the implementation of best management practices (BMPs) on farms within the Lake Erie and Lake St Clair watersheds. It helps farmers in the Lake Erie watershed to respond to the greatest soil health and nutrient loss risks on their farms.

Comments on Funding:

Cost-share levels are determined by the risks identified through the completion of a Farmland Health Check-Up.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • Be businesses
  • Be  located in the eligible area around lake Erie in Ontario
  • Have Farm Business Registration Number (FBRN) and Premises Identification (PID) Number
  • Have an Environmental Farm Plan and a Farmland Health Check-Up completed (it assess risks to on-farm soil health and water quality).

  1. Thank you for your interest in the LEADS program. LEADS is now fully allocated and is no longer accepting applications.
  2. The last application intake closed on November 8, 2021.
