The Community Economic Development and Diversification Stream aims to develop, diversify and transform rural Southern Ontario economies by promoting small business development, community innovation and strategic collaborations.
Comments on Funding:
Funding is normally up to 50% of eligible and supported project costs and ranges from $250,000 to $5,000,000 per project. On an exceptional basis, funding can go up to 100% of eligible and supported project costs.
For projects involving redistribution of funding, the ultimate recipients (SMEs) must provide minimum 50% cash contribution. The maximum disbursement of a contribution that provides funding to SMEs as their ultimate recipient is capped at a maximum of $100,000 per SME under a FedDev Ontario project with a not-for-profit organization.
Total government funding is up to 100 % for not-for-profit organizations.

Other Things to Note:
Not-for-profit and community economic development organizations can apply through the Jobs and Growth Fund for priority consideration.
