Description:

The Social Enterprise Ontario program provides loans and grants to Ontario cooperatives and not-for profit organizations that have environmental, cultural or social objectives. It also has investment, capacity building, training, support, market access and strategic networking components.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is a grant of up to $ 16,000 and a loan of up to $ 40,000 to start a business or grow an existing business.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • Be a cooperative or non-profit organization legally incorporated in Ontario
  • Have environmental, cultural or social objectives
  • Support employment growth among minority groups
  • Have a tax management system for accountability regarding the use of public funds
  • Have good governance
  • Demonstrate the adoption of an innovative approach to advancing environmental causes and most urgent social Ontario.

Other Things to Note:

Program no longer active at the beginning of 2021.
