Type of Program:

Creative Export Canada offers funding for projects that generate export revenues and help Canadian creative industries reach more people around the world.

Ultimately, the program aims to increase export profitability for Canada’s creative industries.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to $2.5M per project. Maximum public funding is 75% for the same, eligible project-related costs. Due to the program’s extremely competitive nature, funded projects will likely receive less than 75% of total eligible project costs.

Projects must have a minimum total cost of $150,000 and be funded at a minimum of 25% by private sources (which can include applicant’s own contribution).

Amount limitations:

  • project-related administrative costs (e.g. general office supplies, mailing, and cloud storage costs), limited to a maximum of 15% of the total recommended amount;
  • project-related translation and interpretation expenses, limited to a maximum of 10% of the total amount of funding requested from the program.
