Description:

The Accelerator Partnership Program (A2P) is designed to provide producers of digital media projects funded through the CMF’s Experimental Stream with better access to mentorship, market and capital.

As such, the A2P seeks to connect Experimental Stream funding recipients with renowned Canadian and foreign accelerators that the CMF has selected based on their ability to work with the variety of projects and diversity of producers supported by the CMF, across the country and abroad.

Comments on Funding:

The CMF will provide acceleration program funding for the recipient’s CMF-funded project, up to $30,000.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

  • For-profit production company
  • Is Canadian-controlled as determined in sections 26 to 28 of the Investment Canada Act
  • Have its head office in Canada.
  • in good standing with all applicable talent and industry associations and guilds.
  • or a Canadian Broadcaster, such as:
  • a Canadian programming undertaking, public or private, licensed to operate by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC);
  • an online service owned, controlled and operated by a Canadian CRTC-licensed programming undertaking;
  • an online service owned, controlled and operated by a Canadian broadcasting distribution undertaking (“BDU”), licensed to operate by the CRTC; and
  • CRTC-licensed VOD services.

Other criteria also apply:

  • The project and recipient have previously received funding in production and/or marketing from the CMF Experimental Stream
  •  The project had not previously ever received funding through the A2P
  • The project and recipient have been selected by a business accelerator approved by the CMF
  • The acceleration program must be provided for the project financed by the CMF through the Experimental Stream.

register online to create your Dialogue account on the Telefilm website and complete the funding application.

Other Things to Note:

Update the entry when the new guidelines will be in place. The previous year they were published in April.
