Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • be a private sector entity (i.e. not a government entity),
  • Have operations in Latin America, The Caribbean or Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Generates or be projected to generate cash flow that is sufficient in order to be able to repay debt or provide an adequate return on equity
  • Have operations in a FinDev Canada priority sector, i.e. green growth, agribusiness value chain, or financial service
  • Have an impact on economic and social development in the host country through job creation, a contribution to women’s economic empowerment, climate change mitigation or adaptation.

Other Things to Note:

FinDev Canada usually provides funding to private-sector entities in Latin America, The Caribbean or Sub-Saharan Africa, but it also considers investments in Canadian businesses working in FinDev Canada’s target regions and sectors.
