Description:
Businesses that are, or were, required to shut down or significantly restrict services due to provincial public health measures can apply for rebates for their
energy costs, including electricity and natural gas (or where natural gas is not available, propane and heating oil), provided in the form of grants, to help with their fixed costs.
Comments on Funding:
Funding will take the form of a rebate and will cover the entire length of time that regionally targeted public health restrictions are in place.

Applications Steps:
have a business number before they can proceed with their application;
have information about the number of employees available and would have to attest to the information provided in their application;
complete the eligibility questionnaire;
complete and submit the application form, providing the eligibility criteria are met.
Applicants will be able to complete a single form to apply for any – or all – of these programs: PPE support, property tax rebates, energy cost rebates or the Ontario Small Business Support Grant.
Documentation Needed:
Applicants must provide the following:
- 1business information (including legal name and CRA business number);
- 2contact information;
- 3energy cost details, including a digital copy of the first energy bill (including electricity, natural gas, propane or other) they received on or after the day modified Stage 2, Control, Lockdown or Provincewide Shutdown restrictions were put in place in their region. They can also submit other energy bills if their business is heated by propane or heating oil.
