IAPO Financing for Business Start Ups & Expansion Program (FNBSEP) (2022)
Description:
FNBSEP provides business financing and grants to qualified First Nations entrepreneurs, businesses and economic development corporations across Ontario to enhance community level economic development by supporting the success of high potential business start ups and expansions.
Areas of financing include: seed capital, start-up and early-stage loans, expansion capital, and business acquisition.
Comments on Funding:
Funding is a loan of up to $100,000 and a grant of up to $10,000.
The grant is applied directly to the loan to either reduce the term and/or interest paid.

Once their application is received applicants will be contacted and additional information about their project may be sought. When all information is obtained, the application will be screened for eligibility and then presented for evaluation and assessment.

In addition to making regular loan payments, applicants will be required to submit annual status reports and annual financial statements. Any publicity about the project must include recognition of the AEDF program. All records of project expenditures must be retained.
Other Things to Note:
Funding, which extends until March 31, 2023, is provided through the Indigenous Economic Development Fund by the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs.
