Description:

Ignite Capital Pitch Competition provides Ontario start-ups the opportunity to win up to $15,000 for their business ventures, as well as access industry-specific coworking spaces, business consulting, PR and legal work.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to $15,000 and is a combination of grant/loan.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Canadian citizens / permanent residents and currently residing in Ontario
  • 50% (or more) owner of a for-profit, registered business that is not more than five years old. For the Start Up category, the business must be less than two years old.
  • Able to demonstrate lack of access to capital (e.g. turned down for a bank loan or line of credit).

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must:

  • Submit a business plan
  • Submit two years of financials in one of three categories – Start Up (little or no sales), Scale Up (part-time or freelancers) and Grow Up (full time businesses),
  • Submit a copy of government issued photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License or Passport)
  • Participate in a live pitch.

Other Things to Note:

Program no longer active at the beginning of 2021.
