Description:

LiONʼS LAIR is an annual competition presented by Innovation Factory in partnership with the City of Hamilton Economic Development office, which brings together the entrepreneurship and innovation community in Hamilton. The competition gives up-and-coming entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their business to a panel of Hamilton’s top business experts for a chance to win cash prizes.

Applicants have the chance to win cash prizes.
The winners of the 2020 and 2021 competitions won a $30,000 prize.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be:

  • startups who have a product in-market (or close to launch);
  • working with Innovation Factory and being coached by Innovation Factory mentors.

Application Steps:

The applicant must be an Innovation Factory clients. To become a client, applicants can fill out an intake form, come in for an intake meeting and get the ball rolling! As a client of iF, applicants have the opportunity to take part in programs and events like this.

Other Things to Note:

    Every Spring, hopeful participants submit applications which are evaluated by a panel of independent judges.

    The 2021 competition was delivered in a virtual setting in September.
