Youth Small Business Program is designed to help youth aged 16 to 29 launch or grow a small business. This program is a great opportunity to learn essential business and financial skills through interactive workshops and business coaching while developing the confidence to run a successful business and can offer a $500 start-up grant to graduates.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • have a practical idea to start or grow his own for-profit, small business (any size, both full or part time/seasonal opportunities are welcome),
  • Commit to attending all course sessions and submit all assignments
  • Have difficulty obtaining traditional bank financing
  • Self-identify as having experienced a mental health and/or addiction challenges
  • Be between the ages of 16 and 29
  • be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.

Applicants must submit the online Rise Financing Application. 

Other Things to Note:

1.The Youth Small Business Program is now accepting applications for Cohort 2 which will run on January 23-April 5, 2023.

  1. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and will close approximately one week before the cohort start date.
