Rise’s Peer Supported Training provides aspiring entrepreneurs with educational, business advisory, and mentorship support and the possibility to access a $300 start-up grant. It aims to help entrepreneurs as they develop their business plan, entrepreneurship skills and the confidence to launch and grow their business.

Funding is a $300 start-up grant.

Eligibility:

The applicant must:

  • have a practical idea to start or grow your own for-profit small business (any size, full or part-time/seasonal), and be looking to start this within the next 12 months,
  • Self-identify as having experienced mental health and/or addiction challenges
  • Be unable to access traditional bank financing for his small business
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • commit to attend all course sessions and submit all assignments.

Applicants must apply online.

Other Things to Note:

  1. The Peer Support Startup Program is now accepting applications for Cohort 3 which will run on Jan 16 – Mar 15, 2023.
  2. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and will close approximately one week before the cohort start date.
