Tourism Product Development stream – Ontario Tourism Development Fund

The Tourism Product Development stream provides support for not-for-profit organizations and municipalities to develop and/or implement research-based innovative and emerging tourism sector projects with a provincial focus or with the involvement of at least two or more tourism regions.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to 50% of total cash expenses as outlined in your project cash operating budget.The remaining project cash operating budget must come from a combination of organization and project partner cash contributions. At least 20% of total cash expenses must come from the organization.


Applicants must:

  • Be tourism associations (excluding Regional Tourism Organizations), 
  • National and/or provincial industry sector associations,
  • Municipalities and 
  • Not-for-profit organizations, 
  • Be interested in undertaking tourism-related initiatives which support tourism product development, industry development and increased visitation,
  • have at least $2 million General Commercial Liability insurance coverage.

  • The Tourism Development Fund application,
  • A certificate of insurance with at least $2 million coverage.Partnership letters are recommended and should include amount of cash and/or in kind contributions toward the proposed project.
