Description:
The Queen’s Innovation Centre Summer Initiative (QICSI) is a 16-week, fixed cohort incubator program where founders receive no-cost training, mentorship, and office space to launch their own venture. QICSI offers the opportunity to work on a venture full-time while receiving ongoing support from the Dunin-Deshpande Queen’s Innovation Centre advisors, mentors, and staff.

Funding:
- Receive a $10,000 personal stipend to cover living costs while applicants pursue a venture full-time.
- Up to $4,000 seed funding to help grow the venture as your team meets required milestones.
- Teams have the chance to win up to $30,000 additional funding in the Dunin-Deshpande Summer Pitch Competition at the end of the program.
Eligibility:
Applicants (Individuals) must:
- be innovators, dreamers and changemakers from any background with an interest in entrepreneurship, innovation or social impact;
- be available and ready to attend QICSI full-time in person in Kingston from the beginning of May to the end of August 2023;
- be broadly curious, coachable, and willing to wear multiple hats;
- have the ability to effectively contribute to a multidisciplinary team.
Applications Steps:
Application process for individuals without an idea or a team:
Individuals who make it past the interview phase will have an opportunity to find a team from among the individuals’ cohort and ideate a new venture, or form a venture to commercialize Queen’s research and intellectual property through the Foundry.
