Description:

The BMO Launch Me Competition was created to support students and recent grads with seed funding to get their venture ideas off the ground. Fifteen contestants with the overall strongest business plan and pitch will have the opportunity to win a portion of funding for their startups.

The funds will be distributed in three categories:

  1. 1
    BMO Women Innovators Competition: For women-identifying entrepreneurs;
  2. 2
    BMO Groundbreaker Competition: For all current students;
  3. 3
    BMO New Graduate Startup Competition: For Humber graduates (within ~2 years graduation).

Comments on Funding:

Seed funding of up to $15,000 could seriously impact your venture development.
In total, students and alumni have the opportunity to win a portion of $135,000 in funding for their startups!

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • have identified a business idea and must be in the ideation or startup phase;
  • be open to exploring and changing as you work through the program;
  • be serious about pursuing this business and be committed to completing the program;
  • be a Humber Student or alumni within ~2 years of graduation;
  • complete the BMO Launch Me Program and attend all workshops to be eligible to compete.
  • Seed funding of up to $15,000 could seriously impact the applicants' venture development.

Applicants must:

Submit a two minute video to the CfE’s email at cfe@humber.ca. Videos do not have to be professionally taken. Videos of interest are due on Tuesday, Oct. 12 by 11:59 p.m.

Attend the Program. The first workshop will begin on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Submit their Business Plan. This application is due on Monday, Jan. 24 by noon. Selected students and alumni will be invited to pitch in the BMO Launch Me pitch competition!

Pitch in the BMO Launch Me pitch competition. Fifteen contestants with the overall strongest business plan and pitch will have the opportunity to win a portion of funding for their startups.

    Submit a two minute video explaining:
  • a little about the entrepreneur;
  • what is the applicant's business, venture or idea,
  • why are they interested in participating in the BMO Launch Me program and competition.

    Apply for the BMO Launch Me competition by submitting and filling out an application and business plan template.

Other Things to Note:

The BMO Launch Me Program is designed to help students and recent alumni prepare for success in the BMO Launch Me competition. Complete a series of skill building workshops to prepare your business idea for launch, and submit your work for a chance to win funds. The first round of the competition is a business plan submission. Chosen finalists will move on to the finals with a five minute pitch to a panel of judges.
