Description:

IDEABOOST Accelerator is a four-month bootcamp based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada which provides six media-focused startups per cohort training, networking opportunities and up to $35,000 in seed funding.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to $35,000 and is provided in the form of convertible notes, with generous terms governing the conversion into equity over a four-year period.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

  • be media-focused Canadian startups,
  • be companies that are building the next generation of technology-based media and entertainment products, services, and brands with a focus on leading technologies in media & entertainment,
  • be growth-oriented,
  • have developed a product past ideation stage (e.g. working prototype, beta version).

Co-productions and joint ventures between Canadian and non-Canadian companies are also eligible, provided that the Canadian team member is the one who submits the application to IDEABOOST. Starting in 2020, IDEABOOST moved towards more thematic programming streams which will focus on leading technologies in media & entertainment, with an emphasis on immersive media forms of AR/VR/XR and virtual beings with AI integration.

Documentation Needed:

  • the application,
  • their Articles of Incorporation or Letters Patent and are encouraged to attach an up-to-date deck (e.g. investor/pitch).
