Description:

The AgriInnovate Program provides repayable contributions for projects that aim to accelerate the commercialization, adoption and/or demonstration of innovative products, technologies, processes or services that increase agri-sector competitiveness and sustainability.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to 50% of total eligible costs, to a maximum of $10 million.
The applicant must provide a minimum of 50% of the funding towards eligible project costs.
Combined government funding being applied towards total eligible project costs must not exceed 75%.

A maximum of 20% of total eligible costs are available for marketing activities.

  • be for-profit organizations, including businesses and/or corporations, co-operatives, corporations and co-operatives in Indigenous communities
  • be Incorporated in Canada.
  • be legal entities capable of entering into legally binding agreements.
  • provide a minimum of 50% of the funding towards eligible project costs.

Complete the online AgriInnovate Pre-Screening Form (stage 1)

Submit an online full application with required supporting documentation, if invited to proceed further. Applicants that have been invited to submit a full application (stage 2) will have 30 business days to complete the online application and supporting documents.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:

  • The application form
  • Signature of applicant authorized representative form
  • Consent to disclose/copyright form
  • Completed business plan
  • Organizational chart
  • Diagram of the Applicant’s corporate structure
  • Audited or Review Engagement Financial statements for the past three years
  • Pro Forma Financial Statements
  • Signed copies of all financing agreements related to the project financing plan
  • Market research studies and/or letters of supports
  • Applicant’s Certificate or Articles of Incorporation
  • Performance Measures Table
  • Quotes, estimates and/or contracts
  • Copies of all regulatory permits and/or patents required to undertake the project
  • Copy of any inter-company or other agreements impacting the proposed project.

Other Things to Note:

    They are currently experiencing a delay up to 130 days in processing applications. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis from February 13, 2018 until March 31, 2023, or until funding has been fully committed or until otherwise announced by the program. The program ends March 31, 2023.
