CMHC’s Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program – Conversion (RRAP-C) On-Reserve provides financial support to convert non-residential on-reserve properties into self-contained affordable housing units.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is a forgivable loan of up to $60,000. The maximum amount may be increased by 25%.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

  • First Nations;
  • private entrepreneurs;
  • owning and converting non-residential properties located on-reserve to create affordable accommodation for low-income households.

Eligible properties must be:

  • environmentally safe;
  • feasibly converted to residential accommodation; and
  • viable based on agreed post-conversion rents.
