Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in Ontario – Community Futures Program (CFP) (2022)

Description:

CFDCs are dedicated to helping small and medium sized businesses access services and capital, as well as enhancing their community’s economic and employment growth through community-based planning and economic development initiatives.
CFDCs offer the following services:

  1. strategic community planning and socio-economic development;

  2. support for community-based projects;

  3. business Services and Counselling;

  4. business Loans up to $150,000 ($300,000 on exception).

Comments on Funding:

Funding will take the form of loans. Loan amounts vary for each CFDC and are usually up to $150,000 or $300,000 on exception.

Loan terms and conditions are specific to each CFDC.

Eligibility:

Applicant must:

  • small and medium sized businesses;
  • in Canada’s rural areas.

Other Things to Note:

Through FedDev Ontario, the Government of Canada provides funding, advice and support. There are 61 CFDCs across Ontario and 269 CFDCs across rural Canada.
