Indigenous Clean Energy Social Enterprise – Generation Power

Description:

Generation Power engages both Indigenous youth and energy economy employers, positioning Indigenous leadership as an essential component of Canada’s clean energy transition. There are 3 different pathways from which employers can join the program:
1. Employer-led pathway;
2. Match-based Pathway;
3. Training-only Pathway.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is a wage subsidy of 80%, up to a maximum of $32,000, and the employer will pay at least 20%.

Eligibility:

Eligibility criteria for employers:

  • Organizations in the natural resources sector who can offer youth full-time (min. 30 hours/week, some exceptions may apply) work experience for up-to-12 months;
  • Legal entities incorporated or registered in Canada, including for-profit and not-for-profit organizations;
  • Indigenous organizations and groups; and
  • Provincial, territorial, regional and municipal governments and their departments and agencies.
