Description:

The Clean Leadership Summer Internship program is a wage subsidized program that not only provides experiential learning opportunities, but also professional skills training, networking, and mentorship to interns in Nova Scotia.

Employers will benefit from the added capacity that talented and innovative youth provide, as well as from full HR, payroll and ongoing program support from Clean throughout the summer. 

Comments on Funding:
Funding is a 60% wage subsidy.


When It Ends:

Intakes for employers open January 4, 2022
Intakes for interns open February 28, 2022

Deadline:

January 18, 2022 for employers

Eligibility:

Employers must be:

  • be organizations, located across Nova Scotia, who focus on climate change mitigation, conservation, waste management, clean tech, active transportation, research and other areas rooted in the clean economy;
  • invest in training and employment for youth in the clean economy.

The intern must be:

  • between the ages of 15 to 30 at the start of internship;
  • a full-time high school or post-secondary student and intending to return to school in the fall
  • from and/or will be residing in Nova Scotia for the duration of the internship.
  • a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or Persons who have been granted refugee status in Canada or are legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • NOT in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) during the internship.
