Description:

The Digital Skills for Youth program allows you to leverage the knowledge of a tech-savvy, educated youth population to future-proof your business.

The Digital Skills for Youth program is a wage subsidy provided to SMEs that covers 100% of a candidate’s salary up to a maximum of $25,000 for environmental jobs that require digital abilities. 

Examples of eligible roles include: digital marketers, developers, GIS specialists, drone operators, data analysts or IT specialists with an environmental focused role.

Eligibility:

Applicant must:

  • be SMEs (have under 500 employees) and willing to provide training,
  • be Canadian owned organizations or a Canadian subsidiary,
  • provide jobs with environmentally-related with a digital component.

Interns must be:

  • post-secondary graduates across Canadian provinces or High School graduates in Territories;
  • between 15-30 years of age;
  • looking for work in areas that require digital skills and be tech-savvy, educated youth population;
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons who have been granted refugee status in Canada;
  • unemployed, underemployed or hold part-time employment.

Placements must be a minimum of 3 months in length, full or part-time.

Applications Steps:

Applicant must:

take the eligibility Quiz and complete the online host application to get approved,

find a Candidate for the approved position and have them apply (Employer hosts and approved Candidate become linked and contracts are issued.).
