Environmental Careers Organization of Canada – Science Horizons Internship Program

Description:

The Science Horizons Internship Program offers eligible employers salary coverage to create STEM-related job placement opportunities while helping to nurture the next generation of environmental leaders.

Comments on Funding:

Funding will cover up to 80% of a candidates wages up to a maximum of $18,000.
Additional funding is available for wrap-around services.

Eligibility:

Applicants/host organizations must:

  • Be Canadian owned, Canadian subsidiary, Municipal or Provincial Government Department,
  • provide a new full-time, permanent, environmentally-related position in STEM for candidates aged 30 or younger, 
  • Hire a new employee.
  • hire a candidate that has graduated from post-secondary institute and is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or has refugee status.

Interns must:

  • Be 30 years of age or younger,
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status,
  • currently unemployed or underemployed, or a student/recent graduate,
  • have a post-secondary accomplishment (some exceptions apply),
  • not be an existing fulltime permanent employee.

2. postsecondary program info and a resume (for candidates).
