Description:

The Agricultural Workforce Equity and Diversity Initiative (the Initiative) provides funding to organizations to support underrepresented groups in starting or growing their own business in the agri-food sector.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. an industry organization
2. a research body
3. a municipality
4. an Indigenous community
5. an Indigenous government

Projects must serve at least one underrepresented group, including:
1. Indigenous
2. communities/governments
3. youth
4. women
5. visible minorities
6. 2SLGBTQI+ people
7. persons with disabilities
8. members of English and French linguistic minority communities

Projects must also support one of the following:
1. address barriers to financing
2. provide access to equipment
3. provide access to spaces (such as greenhouse space, vertical farming space or land to grow and/or process agri-food products)

Supporting activities, such as development/delivery of training, mentoring, analysis, promotion, cannot be stand-alone projects.

Application Steps:

Applicants must:

2. Download and complete the application form (PDF).
3. Download and complete the collaboration form (PDF), if applicable.
4. Gather the required documents.
5. Submit the application and required documents to SustainableCAP2@ontario.ca
