Description:

CIIP’s Collaborative Research and Development Projects program provides support to Canadian companies to participate in R&D projects that are: done in collaboration with foreign partners in Brazil, China, India, Israel, or South Korea and have the potential for commercialization. There are three types of industrial R&D projects eligible under CIIP: Technology Adaptation, Technology Validation and Technology Co-Development.

Comments on Funding:

Funding is up to 50% of eligible costs to a maximum of $600,000 for approved projects.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be Canadian companies that are incorporated, for-profit small or medium-sized enterprises, with up to 500 full-time equivalent employees;
2. be seeking to commercialize new or improved products, services, or processes;
3. be ready to collaborate on a R&D project with a foreign partners;
4. have sufficient resources to make a serious new market entry push;
5. have a world class, distinguishable, and protectable technology which may already be commercialized in Canada.

Application Steps:

Applicants must apply to a call for proposal (CFP) in their target market.
Those interested should subscribe to email notices in order to get email notifications for all upcoming CIIP activities.
