Description:

DFO’s Indigenous Marine Servicing Initiative (IMSI) is designed to increase Indigenous participation in the marine industry supply chain, which supports Indigenous communities and commercial fishing enterprises (CFEs) that want to expand and diversify into Indigenous marine-related service industries.

Comments on Funding:

Applicant will contribute a minimum of 10% towards the total project expenditures.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:
1. be Indigenous communities;
2. be Indigenous Commercial Fishing Enterprises (CFEs); and
3. pursue opportunities in the marine servicing industry.

Application Steps:

Applicants must work with their Business Development Team (BDT) members to develop project work plans, supporting business cases for submission along with a completed IMSI Application.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit the application documents to the IMSI Program Authority), along with a letter of support from their community or Commercial Fishing Enterprise.

Other Things to Note:

Applications can be received at any time throughout the year. However, deadlines for intake and subsequent review will be May 15 and October 15. Once the budget has been fully allocated projects will be considered for the following fiscal year.
