Description:

The program supports Ontario-based First Nations, Inuit, and Métis artists working in the visual arts, crafts or traditional/customary Indigenous art forms to create artwork. Grants of $500 help cover the cost of buying art materials and supplies.This is a third-party recommender program. Artists apply to the Indigenous organizations designated as recommenders for the program. Recommenders assess applications and submit grant recommendations to OAC.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. artists and Culture Carriers who are First Nations, Inuit or Métis (see definition below)
2. Ontario residents

Application Steps:

Applicants must complete and submit an application in Nova, OAC’s online grant application system. You will be able to do this approximately two months before the deadline.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:

1. answers to application questions
2. the name of the recommender you are applying to
3. artistic examples – images or video documentation of your own work:
a. 8 images maximum
4. a support document:
a. artist resumé (optional but recommended)
