Comments on Funding:

Each twelve-month fellowship is valued at $85,000. Funding is $35,000 from OCI and $50,000 from the company ($25,000 cash plus $25,000 in-kind).

OCI funding is $35,000 per 12-month unit for eligible project costs, up to maximum of $70,000 (2 units).

Company-based fellows must receive a minimum cash compensation of $60,000 per year of the $85,000. Institution-based fellows must receive a minimum cash compensation of $52,500 per year of the $85,000. The remainder may be used for direct project costs.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:
1. a principal investigator from the post-secondary institution (institution-based fellowships) and must have an eligible company as the contributing Industry Partner. Fellows must spend a significant portion of their time on-site or in the field with the company. OR
2. a for-profit company (company-based fellowships), incorporated in Ontario or Canada that:
a) has a valid CRA business number ;
b) is using or developing technology-based innovation related to automotive and smart mobility technology such as Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (C/AV) technologies, Electric Vehicles (EV), battery technologies,
