Description:

The program supports the creation, exploration, development, production and presentation of French-language dramatic works in Ontario.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

1. Professional theatre artists who reside in Ontario.
2. Ad hoc groups and non-profit theatre collectives composed of professional theatre artists and of which at least 50% of the members reside in Ontario.
3. Not-for-profit organizations headquartered in Ontario that produce professional theatre.

Application Steps:

Applicants must complete and submit an application in Nova, OAC’s online grant application system. You will be able to do this approximately two months before the deadline.

Documentation Needed:

Applicants must submit:

1. basic information about the project.
2. answers to the questions asked in the application form
3. the project budget
4. artistic examples:
a. Sample of the text of the work that is the subject of the application and/or of a previous work by the candidate (20 pages maximum).
b. For works without text, it is mandatory to send another type of documentation (description or audiovisual support material for example).
c. For musical theatre projects, it is mandatory to send a sample of text and, in addition, audio material (song or musical excerpt that will be used or previous artistic example of the author, composer or creator)
5. supporting documents:
a. Biographical note(s) of the candidate and main collaborators (artists and non-artists) (mandatory).
b. Letters of recommendation or support, critiques (optional).
c. Production category only: signed co-production agreement or letter of agreement (if the project is a co-production – mandatory).
